Waiheke Island is just a 35 minutes ferry ride from downtown Auckland and is situated in the beautiful Hauraki Gulf. It is the second largest of the Hauraki Gulf Islands, the most populated and the most accessible with regular ferry and air services. Ferries leave downtown Auckland almost every hour.

Situated 20 kms of the coast of Auckland in the “Hauraki Gulf”, it has 96 kms of coastline and has many little bays and beaches, inlets and harbours. The island is approx 92sq/kms, Waiheke is 25kms long.

Waiheke has become renowned for its international award-winning wines and its Easter Jazz Festival, which attracts musicians and followers from all over the world.

Waiheke beaches are one of its most popular attractions, and there are a number of sandy safe swimming beaches.

The good sandy swimming beaches are on the north side of the island, and in the summer you need to get there early to get a good position as they can get a bit crowded.
 
The Island boasts a number of excellent cafes and restaurant. There are banks, shops and almost every service you may need. There are art galleries, golf and sports clubs, and a host of other recreational activities.

A great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland, enjoy good food and wine and relax in the sun.
